Planning A Perfect Party….Here Are Ten Perfect Tips

It may seem like a daunting task, to plan or organize an anniversary party, but it doesn't have to be. More than likely, the party that is being planned will be for a first, fifth, twenty-fifth or fiftieth anniversary. For the most part, these seem to be the most popular anniversaries for parties. However, regardless of the actual anniversary being celebrated the following tips may be used to guide your planning of the actually anniversary party.

Tip #1: The first thing to do is to decide on a guest list. Guest lists for a surprise party are a little harder to do but if the party won't be a surprise then ask the honorees who they want invited. More than likely your guest list will determine many other anniversary party related issues.

Tip #2: Choose a location. Once a guest list has been established then a location will need to be chosen based on the number of guests attending the party. For instance, if only twenty guests are invited, then the party can be held in a variety of places. The number of guests will influence the location of the party.

Tip #3: Determine the theme of the anniversary party. More than likely the anniversary party will be a grand event and your guests will need to know this prior to the party. Once the location of the party has been decided there will be certain themes that lend themselves to that location.If your party is being held in a ballroom, then more than likely an upscale anniversary party theme will be established.

Tip #4: The menu is very important and should be carefully planned. It is common to determine the number of guests and the location before deciding on a menu. Once again, the number of guests attending your party may help determine the menu. Another important factor will be determining whether an actual meal is being served or just finger foods. This, of course will be determined based on the location and the size of the guest list.

Tip #5: Determine a time frame. Plan in advance and allow plenty of time for preparing for all aspects of the anniversary party. Therefore, start planning months in advance for a party with a large guest list. This will enable a location to be reserved, invitations to be mailed and catering to be ordered.

Tip #6: Mail your invitations in a timely manner. Once your guest list has been established, then invitations need to be purchased or ordered and then a date established for the mailing of the invitations. Mail the invitations at least here weeks ahead of the celebration. This will allow time for R.S.V.P and also time for planning of the event.

Tip #7: Determine the proper attire for your party. Once your guests have received the invitations, calls will be received requesting information about the proper attire for this anniversary party. Therefore, include as much information as possible about the event, location and time in the actual invitations.

Tip #8: Decide on the type of music that will be played at your anniversary party. Both live music and recorded are perfectly acceptable. The location of the party will; help decide whether the music is live or recorded. For instance, if the anniversary party is being held in a house, church or community building, recorded music would more than likely be appropriate. However, if the Grand Ballroom or another similar location is being used, your music can vary from a live DJ to a local band.

Tip #9: Gift or no-gift, let the guests know on the invitation what the anniversary couple prefers. More than likely, if it is a twenty-fifth or fiftieth anniversary party, no gift, but your presence will be requested at the anniversary party.

Tip #10: Over plan for the anniversary party. Most often over planning will pay off in the long run. By over planning many issues can be resolved and your anniversary party will be a huge success.
